"I am that little robin" mount only. This is Caroline's story...
Created after a lovely customer (Caroline) got in touch. This is her story...
Caroline's father was set to go on what he called his "World trip" in March of this year. You see, all 7 of his children were settled in Australia, Asia and America. For years they had tried to convince both of their parents to come and visit. But, his wife was wheelchair bound and he felt it would be too much for her to travel. So they made do with Skype calls every week and the occasional trip home.
After his wife passed away, Tom (Caroline's father) promised to make the trip. The planning began in earnest the following year. It was all he could talk about. Sadly, Tom was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and passed away only 6 months later. She wanted to send one of my "Robin" frames to each of her siblings, but the shipping was proving very costly.
So , after some research, I came up with an unmounted option for her in 8x10in size, This size is universally used as a photo frame size, so it would be easy for everyone to buy a frame to suit! It also meant that her shipping costs were much more reasonable with An Post.
So before Father's Day this year, Caroline chose her favourite photo of her beloved Dad. She sent these unmounted robin prints with his photo to her brothers and sisters and to her Dad's extended family saying "Dad was finally making the trip". She messaged me some time later to say they had all got on a Zoom call together on Father's Day to show off their framed prints and toast Tom. They celebrated his life and shared stories of times gone by.
She said it was a lovely way to remember her Dad on their first Father's Day without him and he would have loved that he finally got sent on his trip, even if it was only his memory that made it.
